The Bronze Star with Valor was presented posthumously to Sergeant First Class Jason L. Bishop, United States Army. SFC Bishop was killed in action in Iraq in 2006.
The medal was presented to his wife, Katrina Bishop, by his former Commanding Officer, Lt. Col. James O'Brien, USA, currently stationed at the Pentagon. Accepting with their mother are the Bishop children, Matthew and Morgan.
Katrina Bishop and her children are Jefferson County residents (Douglas Hills). SFC Jason Bishop was a native of Covington, Kentucky and a member of the 101st Airbourne out of Fort Campbell (he was killed in action on his third tour in Iraq).
The presentation was made at Veterans Memorial Park, Jeffersontown, Kentucky on Friday, March 28th.
