Boxes for the Troops

On Nov. 20th., the Ladies Auxiliary, along with the United Auto Workers Veterans Committee, sent 48 individual boxes (packed in 12 boxes of 4 each) plus 3 community boxes to our Troops at Camp Arifjan.
The boxes contained foot powder, dental items, a phone card, playing cards, snacks, Christmas cards to send home, etc.
The boxes were sent for distribution to VFW #1170's chaplain
(who is also a member of G.I. Joe Post #244)

Memorial Day
2004 was rainy,
but it didn't dampen spirits!

A dozen of G.I. Joe's members decorated the area cemeteries for Memorial Day.




Several of our members attended a luncheon at Wildwood Country Club,
sponsored by The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA).
MOAA President Major Ken Slye USA (ret.) is a member of G.I. Joe Post 244.
The Guest of Honor at the luncheon was
Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Anthony Principi.
