Memorial Day 2006 in Jeffersontown Veterans Memorial Park

Memorial Day Observed
Sunday, 28 May 2006 - 1600 hrs (4pm)

In Command of Ceremonies: Lt. Roscoe Burns, Jr. USNR
This year's Program honored all Submarine Veterans, with dedication of a WWII M-14 Torpedo to be permanently displayed in Veterans Park. There was also a Tolling of the Boats Ceremony that followed in the Jeffersontown Community Center.
Keynote Speaker was Captain Charles E. Ellis, former Captain of the USS Louisville Submarine SSN724.

Jeffersontown's Mayor Clay Foreman welcomed The Submarine Veterans and thanked all Veterans for their service.





Former Louisvillian John J. McGinty III, USMC (ret.) and Medal of Honor Recipient was also be introduced.
